Life long benefits can start with a book

Reading for pleasure at and beyond school has real and long-lasting benefits. It unlocks the power of information and imagination and helps children discover who they are. Johnson Park’s Book Fair is a literacy event that brings to school the books kids want to read. It’s a wonderful selection of engaging and affordable books for every reading level. Please visit our Book Fair and be involved in shaping your child’s reading habits.

Dec. 8th–12th, 8:00 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. (Note: we’ll be open before school!)

Thu., Dec. 11th 6:00-8:00 p.m. (special hours during International Night)

Here’s what you can do to help children develop stronger reading skills and a love for reading:

  • Set the example! Let children see you read.
  • Have a collection of books in your home. Update the collection routinely to keep pace with changing tastes and reading skills.
  • Allow your children, with adult supervision, to choose their own books to read.

To help you find the right books for your child, please download our Book Fair’s app at <http://www.scholastic.com/apps/bookfairs>. You can also visit our online Book Fair from Thu., Dec.11th to Wed., Dec. 17th at <http://www.scholastic.com/fair>.
